General Camps for Kids
1. The First Tee of Harrisonburg
The First Tee program uses a combination of golf skills and life skills
to help strengthen character and leadership values in our youth between
the ages of 5 and 17. The average cost per participant is $50 per level.
For those who are unable to contribute financially, program fundraising
efforts will cover the costs. As a not-for-profit organization, The
First Tee welcomes financial gifts and contributions as well as any

Each week at Camp UREC will offer a variety of activities for children
age 6-12. A typical week at camp will include a variety of sport and
recreational activities, opportunities to climb the UREC wall, swimming
and arts and crafts. This year children will be exposed to other areas
on campus such as the Arboretum and the dining services chef. Local
Harrisonburg services such as the Fire Department and Police will be
stopping in as well as martial artists for demonstrations. One final
addition we are excited about is Friday fieldtrips to local Harrisonburg
establishments such as the Children’s Museum, each Friday will be
a different location.

Explore the life of Woodrow
Wilson by taking a guided tour of his birthplace, a beautiful pre-Civil
War manse. The Woodrow Wilson Museum has seven galleries of exhibits,
and features his Pierce-Arrow limousine. Stroll through the maze
in the Victorian garden and visit the President’s Shop for unique
gifts. Children will especially enjoy the new Kid’s Corner where
they can try on period costumes, go on a scavenger hunt, and play historic
games, Tours daily.
