Learn about your local library: Massanutten Regional Library

Massanutten Regional Library, founded in 1928, is a highly valued center for education, culture, technology and knowledge resources. MRL strives to continually change to meet the demanding needs of our community. MRL’s goal is simply “service.” MRL is always asking itself how to better serve the youth, adults, and senior population. It offers a well-trained staff and a comprehensive, balanced collection of materials, programs, and technology in a safe and welcoming environment.

Massanutten Regional Library invites you to glance at its website www.mrlib.org, friend us on Facebook, and follow our Twitter feed. Check the calendar of events for programs, book clubs, and blogs. Join us as a volunteer. Learn a new language on-line with Mango languages. Check out tutoring programs under the on-line reference area for additional educational help. Electronically download a book, or visit us personally and check out a hard-cover book, DVD, CD, or audio book in one/all of our seven locations in the City of Harrisonburg, Rockingham and Page Counties. Know of a neighbor who has physical trouble traveling? Contact us 540.4334.4475 ext. 133 and ask about our Outreach program which brings materials to citizens via mail. Can’t make it to the Department of Motor Vehicles to take the written form of the driving test? Then take it at MRL.

Famous author/historian David McCullough has stated of libraries:

“If the founding fathers came back to this country in this day and age, one of the things that would just thrill them would be our public library system…It is open to everyone and it’s all free…If you get down about the state of American culture, just remember there are still more public libraries in this country than there are McDonalds.”

In all of our seven facilities, we believe McCullough’s words. Check us out. Massanutten Regional Library has lots to offer.
