Mission

Our mission

To enhance the effectiveness of community programs by connecting people with the services they need, matching volunteers with opportunities to serve, and nurturing local services through a community-wide information, resource, referral and volunteer center.

History

The Healthy Community Council in 2001 acknowledged the absence of a centralized information center that informs community members about the programs and services offered by local agencies and organizations. The Community Resource Center was then developed to serve as a link between individuals and local organizations in an effort to promote awareness about programs, events, and volunteer opportunities.

The Community Resource Center is a call/walk-in information, referral and resource center located in the Muhlenberg Activity Center. Community members can contact the CRC to learn about local programs and services that offer specific aid or volunteer opportunities.

The CRC supports local organizations and agencies by serving as an additional media outlet. The CRC has an up-to-date database on programs, services, and volunteer opportunities offered by local agencies and organizations. The CRC works to generate a larger awareness to community members, ultimately linking organizations to community members.
